I am always SUPER pale anyway, but people LOVE to point out the fact that I look “tired,”….ALL the time. Yes, I am AWARE I look like a corpse who hasn’t slept in 100 years. And since I’m always sweating, so I have to dress really lightly, people constantly (and I mean CONSTANTLY) ask, “AREN’T YOU COLD???!?!?!?”
I understand what you’re going through, because I really don’t like to stand out, and these comments make a tough situation even worse.
How do you think people would react if we told them to go “frig” themselves? LOL.
I know most people don’t mean to be hurtful, but I know, it’s tough to hear these things CONSTANTLY.
I get pale sometimes, but mostly what happens when I am in a POTS flare is I get flushed a lot. It annoys me sometimes when people keep pointing out how flushed my face is. It’s like, “I know, and why do you feel the need to point it out?”I don’t mind it when my parents mention it because I know they just care about how I am feeling, but when other people mention it annoys me and makes me feel self conscious.
I have pretty tan skin, but I was once told (by a boy no less) that I looked pale and I didn’t like it at all. It’s a rude thing to say in general. Like….stop looking at me! Don’t you think I know how I look? Gosh. I’m sorry.
